After School Happenings...
The second the kids get home from school, it is chaos! The kids immediately drop bags and beg for snacks and I swear I'm a broken record in saying "put your stuff away first!" It drives me insane! They then are on to homework...I'm always having to peel Hailey away from a book to get her chores done, but hey it could be worse?! I guess I'm a mean Mom, cause they literally have to get it all done before play. We've tried letting them have a little time right when they get home from school to play, but I find that they whine wayyyy more when it's time to stop playing and get things done. So, from 4:00 p.m. until about 5:30, it's patience time for me..yay! Yesterday, Rachel and Joe visited the dentist. They usually get little tokens and are able to buy little toys. Well, Joe wanted a mustache...lol! The pictures of him with it are sooo cute! I also threw in a picture of Joe's hut. This is what he does when the girls are in school in the afternoon. He loves to build stuff...and wants to be a "builder" when he grows up. Here are a few pics!

that is sooo cute of joe! and no wonder parker and him get along so well, they both want to be builders! BTW parker wants him to sleep over tmrw?
Oh goodness. Good job in forcing them to do their homework. my parents never did so I NEVER did it ever. Not even in highschool ha ha.
I am glad that I am not the only "mean Mom"!!! I love all the pics of the kiddies. The mustache is hilarious!!!
I have to say, I DON'T miss the after-school hour of homework, chores, etc. It's nice having all day to fit everything in! But, I'll be back to that this Fall, so I'm enjoying the homeschooling while I can. I love Joe's hut! It's nice to see on in someone else's house! I feel like I'm always putting chairs, blankets, etc. away from one hut or another! :) It's all good fun, we'll miss it in a few years!
Your kids are so cute. I love the 'stache! Funny as all get out! I love the hut and the way you make them get it all done! That is a great idea! I struggle with the "routine" because she is so random in her moods when she gets home. That would be easier though...food for thought! Thanks for your example!
Congrats to your Hubby on his new JOB!!! Your such a good Mommy! Your family is too cute, I remember the after school events at my house as a kid and I kinda miss them. It will be great to go thru that with my kids one day. But don't come too fast please, I don't want them to grow up! PS we need to get together. What is your schedule like?
