This is a Smile Only a Mother Could Love?!

Can I just say that the dentist is not my friend these days? The family has all had their turn visiting Mr. Robison and now it was my turn. I'm informed that I have plenty of cavities. Let me just say that I pretty much have sworn off sugar for the last 5 years of my life, and brush and floss to beat the band and have had only a handful of cavities in all my 30 years. But somehow in the last 2 years I've managed 5! I ask my lovely dentist why this is and he explains that I'm getting older...STRIKE ONE! He then asks me if I like my smile? I say YES! I really do like me smile! I had a gap in my two front teeth growing up and I hated that, but finally it closed and I've liked my smile ever since. Well he proceeds to explain that he could straighten out my front 4 teeth if I'd like....STRIKE TWO! It's cheap, he explains, 1/3 the cost of braces and it would be painless and he would throw in some teeth whitening as well....HA, at this point I'm sort of sensitive, go figure?! Well, the whole time he's in my mouth digging around he tells me about his lovely weekend adventure with friends, how they rented the most amazing house for $500 a night and skiied to their hearts delight all weekend....STRIKE THREE! I mean who asked him to tell me about his weekend. I'm not in a chatty mood with Mr. Dentist, and not in the mood to hear about how my rich, unemployed Mr. Robison is not affected by this retarded economy...LOL. I'm not quite sure I like this dentist, especially now that I get to visit him in two weeks for a three hour chunk of time so he can work on my old, crooked, yellow teeth and get rich off of my $500 to go ski in Aspen....ugh!

*I don't mean to rant...really...I am a nice person :) See the old, crooked, yellow smile? I'm happy, really I am ;)

WTF???? to quote you LOL.. I would get a new dentist also, I went to a dentist like that and he did the same thing, instead of asking me if I wanted to change anythng he just proceeded to tell me what he was going to do, including whitening, etc.. I told him to just jump in a lake and never went back to him again. Trish and my dentist is awesome if you want his number let us know k!!!

Oh boy. Evil evil dentist man. However, he sounds like my kind of guy, screwing people out of their money to enjoy weekends in bliss. If only I could find a way to be as cunning. And PS. I will be waiting in the parking lot for you and Steph ha ha.

I love your smile!!! I have heard the "old" thing about my teeth when I was in my twenties. What a pain!!! I am also on the lookout for a new dentist. I hope we can find a good one soon.

Yikes, I shouldn't have read your post today--I will be visiting the dentist on Wednesday--and I know I have a bunch of work that needs to be done on my old yellow (I can't say crooked because I just got my braces off two years ago after wearing them for nearly FOUR years) teeth!

I think I am officially going to be a dentist now!! I would have told him I would get all that work done if he will accept JUST what the insurance paid! hmmm...white teeth here I come!

Someone told me that dentists make more money than most doctors and other medical related professions. I had my first filling a few months ago and I was furious!! Same thing "you're getting old!" Never had trouble in Portland and now I do. I think it's the water! I love your smile and don't think you need to change a thing!! Just remember why we are here - it's ok our teeth are not perfect!! That's not why we are here!!

To answer your question, that video was taken two days ago haha. I am the only kid left he can do it to so they all love to ask him to do so while they get their kicks. But FYI don't do it to your kids right after they eat, my dad almost got his chicken noodle soup back! ha ha
