Will Christmas Never End?!

I've been telling my girls every day to NOT where they're sandals to school, it's just too cold. Well, yesterday, Abby didn't want to take my advice and trapsed off to school in a sweater, capris and flip flops. I didn't realize at 3:40 when she came inside sobbing that it had been snowing outside! She was soaked and freezing and I felt like the most horrible mom ever! I helped her get in the shower and get warm and recommended that she put away her flip flops until May. I think she got the message because today, she came to me with pants, sweater, warm socks and shoes, coat, and asking for gloves and a hat. She looked like she was ready to go build a snowman. Sometimes, we all learn the hard way...right?! I wonder how many more of these "hard lessons" I'll go through myself and with my children...lol

Here's a word for you.....PAIN!

I thought I understood the meaning of this word but I will tell you right now, I'm learning all about it this week! I mentioned meeting with a personal trainer in my last post. Well, I met with her last week and she wrote me up a great workout schedule and I've followed it to the T this week and let me just say, my hair and makeup just don't look the same, I can hardly lift my arms. I can hardly walk and feel 20 years older than I am because I can't walk. I'm sore in places I didn't even know I had! My mom's been coming with me and she and I leave the gym looking at each other thinking out loud, "are we sure we're up for this again tomorrow" and "this had BETTER PAY OFF!"

Running a Race

My mom always says "do you feel like your running a race all the time?" I would have to agree with her. I do feel like many days I'm running a race and the occasional day when there isn't much to do, I feel like sleeping! I haven't blogged for awhile! Nothing extra special has been happening but I've felt the stress of every day life creep up on me and find that I haven't had time to do the things I really enjoy doing.

I was looking at my girls and boy :) clothes a couple of weeks ago and they are stained and worn and getting small and decided I needed to go through all the summer clothing from last year and figure out what I need. My daughter Hailey mentioned to me that it would be fun to get a few cute things that weren't just plain old t-shirts (lol). She's getting older and very much aware of how she looks and is starting to get her own style. So, I guess now I have to be more aware of where I shop now...to some degree. All I have to say is I hate shopping, especially for clothes! Finding a good deal and something in the size I need and that will be good quality is so flippin hard! I love Old Navy, but sometimes their styles are weird and some things I get there last, and sometimes they don't. My girls always get holes in their jeans when I get them from Old Navy or from Target, so I get their jeans at Walmart, believe it or not and I save big time, too! I also love all their cute t's and their cheap too...so that's a great place to go. I've been getting a cute catalog from a clothing store called "Justice; a clothing store for girls". I decided to go and check it out. They had way cute stuff...a little on the pricey side of things but not as expensive as Gap but a little more than Old Navy. My SIL Traci went with me and helped me find some cute things. They have the cutest earrings and Hailey and Abby just went crazy when I brought them home a cute dress and a super cute shirt and a couple pairs of earrings! The rest of their spring stuff came from Walmart! I just don't see how people can spend so much money on clothing! I see girls wearing the cutest things, I'm sure found at places like Gymboree and other designer clothing stores and yes, they're cute and you can even find good deals from time to time, but there is just no way I can spend that kind of money on clothing for 4 kids! So, oddly, much of my time has been going through all the clothing in the house and getting rid of the stuff that doesn't fit and throwing out the stuff that isn't suitable to give away. It was a BIG job!

I'm meeting with a personal trainer on Friday at my gym. There are many trainers over there, many of them are guys or girls that are twigs and show off too much skin, but there is one trainer that isn't built super skinny and I've been watching her and I wanted to meet with her to see what she suggests. I'm one of those girls who is not a twig, number one, and it is so flippin hard for me to lose weight and trim down! I work out at least 6 times a week and many times I'll go in the evening with Dan as well, working out twice a day a couple of times a week. I love to exercise and feel good and strong doing so. I also would like to think that I eat well too, I've sworn off bad food, especially the sweet stuff for months at a time to not lose a pound. I've seen my doctor as well and all her suggestions didn't make a dent either...so I'm coming to terms that I'm just one of those bigger girls and maybe this trainer will help me turn it to some serious muscle that shows:) Hows that for vain (lol). We'll see.

I love this spring weather! I'm going to be out in my garden this next week getting it ready and planting peas. I'm so excited to get my hands in the dirt! I love working in the yard and growing my own veggies! It's so liberating and I feel like one of the pioneers...haha!

I had a super neat Enrichment night a couple of weeks ago and I really want to share it with you, but am waiting for my mom to em me the pics. I will give you details on that in my next post...it was really moving! Enjoy Easter!

All About Hailey

1. Hailey has the most beautiful voice! It, seriously is always on pitch and super clear. I love to hear her sing.
2. Hailey is at the top of her class...she reads at a junior high leve. She is super smart! She reads at least 5 books (novels) each week. Her favorite books are the Harry Potter Series. She also know's all of her multiplication times tables.
3. Hailey has been taking tumbling for a year and can do all kinds of things...back hand springs, back walk overs, front walk overs, cartwheels, hand stands, splits (2 ways), etc.

All About Joe

Joe was tagged by Emmie...so here are 8 things about Joe

1. Joe loves the Disney Pixar movie "Cars". I've lost count of all the little cars he owns but he has at least 5 different Lightnings and he plays with them all the time!

2. Joe love eggs. This would be his first choice for breakfast every day if I let him.

3. Joe says I love you to Dan and I and to the girls every day. It's so sweet!

4. Joe sucks his thumb, and has a favorite blanket, given to him by Dan's old place of employmeny, Rocky Mountain Power.

5. Joe get's really mad if you say prayers and he's either not there or ready. If he doesn't close his eyes during the prayer, then we have to say it again.

6. Joe loves to sing "I am a Child of God" and "The Wheels on the Bus". He also loves the song "Back in Black" by AC/DC. We have live version and he growels in the beginning and Joe thinks it is the funniest song and laughs and growels through the whole thing. I don't normally let the kids listen to heavy metal music, but he thinks this song is hilarious and we love to watch him as he listens to it.

7. Joe loves to run and has unlimited energy...this summer, I took the kids on a hike. We must have hiked a few miles and he ran the whole thing, kept up with us and loved every minute. He's so boy!

8. Joe loves Basketball. He owns 3 and a small hoop in the backyard and one attached to house in the front yard and if you play with him, you are his best friend! He bounces that thing all day, pretends to be "Troy" from High School Musical and sings the song "Get Your Head in the Game". He's pretty good at it too.
